Men who were selling crack in the Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove freaked out when they heard a distant siren, lit a bathtub full of cash on fire, and tried to climb down from the top of the building during the Cocaine Cowboy days in Miami.
On April 14, HistoryMiami opens "Newsman: The Photojournalism of Tim Chapman." Curated by another longtime Miami Herald photographer, Al Diaz, the exhibit honors the lensman's storied career and commitment to documenting South Florida history. The exhibit features Chapman's life's work, which he donated to the museum in 2013, as well as cameras, press passes, notebooks, and other artifacts.
