Protesters March in Downtown Fort Lauderdale in Response to the Death of George Floyd

On Sunday, May 31, protesters gathered in downtown Fort Lauderdale to express their anger at the continual death of black Americans at the hands of police. The death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis Police energized people to stand up against police brutality even during the global pandemic. In Fort Lauderdale, the protest remained peaceful for the most part, but Fort Lauderdale Police tear-gassed crowds to force everyone to disperse. Photography by Michele Eve Sandberg.
